Imagine Canada’s press release on the impact of 3 months of restrictions on the charitable sector as a result of Covid19 draws a devastating picture. The financial and employment impacts are staggering and without support will collapse many in the sector. Leading the way, Imagine Canada is advocating for a federal investment support package for the sector to stabilize organizations enabling them to continue critical programs and services. City of Vancouver Social Policy Capital Grants
Opening Monday March 9, 2020. Deadline for applications is Thursday, April 9, 2020 at 4:30 PM The Social Policy Capital Grants program provides matching grant support for small scale social infrastructure improvements in Vancouver. These could include: health and safety upgrades; renovations or additions to better deliver programs and serve clients; or planning and feasibility studies for future construction.

Arts and culture facilities are essential to every vibrant, healthy community. We offer funding to help non-profit organizations buy, build, renovate, or expand a cultural space.

Eligible applicants
Your organization must be a registered Vancouver-based non-profit society, charitable organization, or non-profit cooperative with a strong cultural mandate having an independent, active governing body composed of volunteers. Local First Nations Band Councils and Urban Indigenous non-profit organizations are also eligible to apply.
We don't fund organizations that:
- Focus on health care, education, sports, recreation, or religion
Eligible projects
Your organization may apply for this grant to:
- Plan or undertake feasibility studies for future capital projects
- Complete capital projects
- Buy, build, renovate, or expand a cultural facility
The funding cannot pay for:
- Regular or routine repair and maintenance
- Part of ongoing, day-to-day operations
- Work that is already underway or completed
- Administrative costs not directly related to the project
- Projects not located in Vancouver
